Kanu Hawaii is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 2005 to preserve Hawaii’s culture and way of life. It promotes environmental sustainability, economic resiliency, education, culture, and responsibility through “local style” activism. The 13,000+ registered members make commitments to create change, starting with themselves while encouraging neighbors, businesses, and government to change.
In 2011, H&P is assisting Kanu to develop a communication strategy and refine its brand. From August to October of 2010, H&P helped promote Kanu Hawaii’s Eat Local Campaign. The goal was to get residents of all islands to eat strictly locally grown foods for a week to help support the local farming economy and promote sustainability.
