H&P has been recognized in virtually all disciplines of communication — by the Hawaii Advertising Federation (HAF), the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association Business Communicators (IABC). Work by individual team members has been recognized nationally. In 2010, H&P received four Ilima awards and two HAF awards: In 2009, H&P received two Ilima awards and a PRSA award: In July 2008, H&P received nine awards from PRSA: Also in 2008, IABC awarded H&P with two Awards of Excellence for “Andreas Delfs Press Release” (Honolulu Symphony) and “Go Ahead Hawaii, Give Yourself a HI-5 Tip Sheet.” H&P also received six Ilima Awards of Merit for Puna Geothermal Venture, “Andreas Delfs Announcement” and “One Year Anniversary of Hawaii Smoke-Free Law” communication programs as well as “The Pick-Up” radio spot, “Go Ahead Hawaii, Give Yourself a HI-5 Brochure,” and “Gwen Pacarro Takes the Helm at Morgan Stanley Hawaii” press release. In 2007 H&P was named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Champion of Women in Business for our state and for Region IX (California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Guam.) That same year, Hawaii Business Magazine awarded H&P an honorable mention for Small Business Success. In 2007, IABC awarded six Ilima awards to H&P. The firm received three Ilima awards of Excellence for its website, the Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaii’s Smoke-Free Hawaii campaign, and H&P’s “Ten Good Deeds for Ten Great Years” campaign. Three Ilima awards of merit came for “Getting to Know Our Wastewater System” tabloid, “Go Ahead Hawaii: Give Yourself a HI-5″ print marketing campaign, and “Clear the Smoke Hawaii” direct mail brochure. H&P also received three Koa Anvil awards for “Go Ahead Hawaii: Give Yourself a HI-5,” “Smoke-Free Hawaii,” “Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts—40th Anniversary” communication campaigns as well as two Koa Hammer awards for its work on “Clear the Smoke Hawaii” and “Greencycling—Put Opala in its Place!” direct mail pieces, and an Award of Excellence for its website. Two entries were Best of Show finalists. In 2006, Hastings & Pleadwell was awarded an Ilima of Excellence from IABC for its “H&P Moves on Up” direct mail piece. The same year, a handbill designed for Tobacco-Free Oahu won an Ilima of Merit. The firm received Ilima awards for the April 2004 “Don’t Dump on Hawaii” campaign, and for the public service announcement “Blue Cart” for the island-wide curbside recycling program. Both efforts were for the C&C Dept. of Environmental Services, Refuse Division In 2004, Hastings & Pleadwell received a series of awards for its work on the City & County of Honolulu’s Mililani curbside recycling pilot. The PRSA Hawaii Chapter selected the campaign for its highest honor, the Koa Anvil Award. PRSA awarded the campaign a perfect score, and nominated the work for its “Best of Show.” The firm received a Pele Award for a direct mail piece containing curbside recycling instructions for Mililani residents. This was Hastings & Pleadwell’s fourth Pele award. The same piece was a finalist for the NOVA award, which is presented as part of the Pele Awards. IABC awarded Hastings & Pleadwell an Ilima award for the communication program conducted for the Mililani pilot project. In 2001, the firm won an ‘Ilima Award of Excellence from IABC for internal communication developed for The Honolulu Star-Bulletin. Hastings & Pleadwell received Pele Awards of Merit in 2002 for the cover of Potluck: Stories that Taste Like Hawaii; in 2002 for the Waikiki Improvement Association’s 2001 annual report and in 2000 for the “Experience Matters” campaign for Laser Eye Institute. The firm also received a Koa Hammer Award from PRSA for Waikiki Improvement Association’s 2000 annual report. Shaping Hawaii: The Voices of Women—edited, designed and published by Hastings & Pleadwell for Goodale Publishing, won an honorable mention in the 2000 Ka Palapala Pookele Awards. |
