YWCA Hawaii Island

Communication Strategy — Community Relations — Media Relations — Messaging — Website Development

YWCA of Hawaii Island is a not-for-profit membership organization that is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The YWCA of Hawaii Island offers a variety of services that are available to its members including: healthy start support for new parents, early childhood education, teen court and sexual assault support.

Established in 1919, the YWCA of Hawaii Island has enjoyed a thriving membership and active community involvement. But now, the YWCA is facing dwindling membership, lack of community involvement in programs and the potential closure of its swimming pool, the organization’s primary membership driver.

H&P will work to reposition the YWCA of Hawaii Island as a top-of-mind organization for community events and activism. Immediate goals include executing a capital campaign to save the pool, in tandem with a concerted membership drive.
